Hypertension Management Strategies: Clinical Manifestations, Therapeutic Management, and Pharmacist Contributions
Keywords:
Hypertension, Clinical Manifestations, Therapeutic Management, Pharmacist Role, Patient Education, Medication Adherence, Cardiovascular ComplicationsAbstract
Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases and a major risk factor for various serious health complications, including coronary heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. This article examines strategies for managing hypertension with a focus on clinical manifestations, therapeutic management, and the contributions of pharmacists in managing this condition. The clinical manifestations of hypertension are often non-specific, making routine screening crucial for early detection. The therapeutic management of hypertension involves both pharmacological and non- pharmacological approaches, emphasizing healthy lifestyle changes and the appropriate use of antihypertensive medications. Pharmacists play a vital role in ensuring patient adherence to medication, providing education on proper medication use, and monitoring for side effects and drug interactions. Through a collaborative approach with other healthcare team members, pharmacists can help improve therapeutic outcomes for hypertensive patients and reduce the risk of complications associated with this disease.
